Vom Teero German Shepherds is a small hobby kennel located in the beautiful hills of southeast Kentucky. German Shepherds have been an important part of our life since childhood. I grew up with these magnificent animals and many years later they are still part of my life. We love the traits of this breed. These dogs are extremely intelligent, courageous, loyal to their families, and are very beautiful animals.
We don't breed GSDs for just the sake of breeding. It is a complicated process that takes serious planning. The focus throughout the process is to improve and preserve the breed. We adhere to the strict German standards of the breed while moving forward with our plans. In order to select an animal for breeding it is very important to make sure that such an animal is a true representative of the breed standards. The animal must be physically and mentally sound and risk free by self and by its pedigree. He or she should have the desired conformation, temperament, and work drives. Although two animals may be selected as brood stock they may or may not be a good match for each other. We must study their strengths and weaknesses fairly in order to go forward with the mating plans. Once again the focus should always be to improve the breed and produce the animals that truly conform to the breed standards.
With very selective breeding our focus remain on physical and mental health, sound temperament, ideal conformation, workability, dark rich colors, and eagerness to please their humans. We use only the best in the world, west german, titled, and proven stud dogs to produce the desired puppies. Our puppies should be suitable and excel in all the venues of the breed. They should make loving companions, fearless guardians, endless energetic work dogs, and flawless conformation competitors.
